Scissor lifts are increasingly becoming an alternative to scaffolding necessary when working at heights. Depending on the type of lift, it can be successfully used both on the construction site - to lift employees or building materials, and, for example, inside operating factories.

Single and double scissor lifts
Scissor lifts can be divided into two basic subcategories, which differ slightly in design.
- Single scissor lift – a platform with one pair of scissors, in which lifting is carried out using two actuators responsible for unfolding and folding the lift scissors.
- Double scissor lift – equipped with a double system of scissors driven by actuators. The use of such a system makes the structure more rigid and stable, and the platform can be lifted to a much greater height than in the case of a single scissor lift.
Scissor lifts they facilitate work in many areas, therefore, apart from construction sites, halls and shopping malls, they are also used, among others, in warehouses handling bulky goods, on production lines and finally during assembly or finishing works. The lightest machines can also be used in skyscrapers, and their small dimensions and net weight of less than 800 kg allow them to be transported by a standard elevator.
Inspection and service of lifts guarantee safety
Regardless of the place where a given lift is to be used, a technical inspection must be carried out before it is allowed to operate. The machine must also be under constant supervision by an authorized person service center, such as GIZO, thanks to which any fault will be eliminated before the device starts working.

Scissor lifts based on the type of power source, they are divided into scissor lifts battery, combustion and hybrid.

Battery scissor lifts are popular due to low operating costs and their compactness. They are equipped with long-lasting batteries, and the easy control system and small turning radius make it possible to easily maneuver such devices. Battery scissor lifts can be placed along flat walls and facades or directly under the work site. Electric drive it allows for low noise emission, and the devices are equipped with non-marking tires that enable their use also inside buildings.

Petrol scissor lifts equipped with internal combustion engines and off-road drives are recommended primarily for various types of construction works. Maneuvering such a device, despite its dimensions, is easy thanks to the small turning radius, and the extendable platform allows for increased space for the operator. Signaling dangerous tilt, often used in diesel scissor lifts, guarantees safe work when using these machines.
